AN OPEN WINDOW TO MY WORK

A REALLY CONSCIOUS LIVING CHOICE

It is a choice, it always was and will be a choice, a free humble unconditional acceptance of our role, of our purpose in this world, nothing more, nothing less. We all are messengers, just that, but messengers that are able to see the always present truth that connects us all. We are responsible for transmitting that irrepressible truth to the best of ours skills, knowing that it will never be enough.

The object isn’t to make art, it’s to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable.

CONEXION THROUGH PRESENCE AND AWARENESS

A HUMBLE WAY TO ASK FOR PERMISSION WITHOUT WORDS

Before starting a new project I took the time to relax and connect. For me this step is fundamental because, somehow, it prepares the foundations that are going to give meaning to the work. It is like a trip to the interior, a search in which I have to go discarding everything temporary, purely physical, to reach the essence, the permanent, the timeless. It is like creating a deeply intimate relationship with what you are going to represent, long before you begin to represent it. You can say that it is almost a way to ask for permission without words, to humbly ask if you are worthy. For me, this relationship is very valuable and delicate, so I work hard to maintain the conditions to allow it to grow and develop. The difficult thing now is to maintain that state of peace, gratitude, presence… it is incredibly easy to leave the mind behind the wheel and see you surrounded by judgments and thought, miles away.

PLEIN AIR

NATURE ALWAYS PUTS ME TO THE TEST

In the studio I can control everything practically, it is a stable and safe environment, where I can change and adjust, at pleasure, to the smallest detail. I can dedicate the necessary hours and days without worry, everything is almost immobile. But nature does not wait for you, it is the life itself, changing every second, where there are no mistakes or successes, just carefree life, sprouting from each leaf, each branch, flooding everything, immense and volatile, and yet, so present. Being a spectator and being able to paint this marvel is, for me, one of the greatest privileges.

There are moments in our lives, there are moments in a day, when we seem to see beyond the usual- become clairvoyant. We reach then into reality. Such are the moments of our greatest happiness. Such are the moments of our greatest wisdom. It is in the nature of all people to have these experiences; but in our time and under the conditions of our lives, it is only a rare few who are able to continue in the experience and find expression for it.
